The 2nd Armored Division in France 1944 from a National Archive photo. Public domain. I believe I have correctly identified the piano maker as Henri Herz made in Paris.

Hand painted in Procreate on iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. 107 hours and 55 minutes of work not counting research. More than 195,000 brush strokes.

A quote from a satisfied customer: “Mike, thanks for the pic. It looks awesome. Very proud to purchase it. You always have and continue to do great work.” Thanks again Jerry, you are customer #1!

Check out the time-lapse Youtube video of the creation of “War Song”. It’s long but great to put on the tube while listening to music.

The Ledger

Limited Edition prints signed by the artist available. “War Song” will be limited to 20 prints at 20”x 16”. One was sold to a dude I went to Kindergarten with. How cool is that?

Keeping track of all the details takes a bit of discipline but as they say, “If it’s not written down, it never happened.” Plus I just plain old forget things sometimes. Luckily Procreate keeps track of a lot of stuff for me. 195,000+ brush strokes? Are you kidding me? Procreate even takes a video of the whole process. Might make a good screen saver. I’m also including a Certificate of Authenticity with each print. I feel very deeply that integrity is of the utmost importance. To many prints lower the value. I will never let that happen.
